Emily Adams
Office Manager
BA, Wake Forest University
I was born and raised in a small town on outer Cape Cod. Frugality and financial literacy were necessities; I had my own bank account and invested in my first mutual fund while I was still in grade school. After graduating from Wake Forest University as a Presidential Scholar for Distinguished Achievement in Voice, I moved to San Francisco and worked for TIME Magazine’s advertising sales division before managing national promotions for the Old Navy brand at Gap, Inc. After a decade in the corporate realm, I decided to pursue my passions: music & health. I’m a professional singer as well as a certified nutrition consultant and a RYT-200 yoga teacher.
In 2014, my husband and I moved to New York City where I managed and taught at Brooklyn’s Bend & Bloom yoga studio. Never a stranger to working multiple jobs, I simultaneously consulted for a Massachusetts solar company, ran a music marketing business, and continued to manage my own music business which included performing, writing, and recording across the Northeast.
COVID inspired a move to Norwalk, and after a few years of working remotely, I was yearning to return to an in-person office experience. Luckily, I found HTG!
I’m excited to marry my passion for the customer experience with my interest in personal finance as HTG’s Office Manager.
Outside of the office, you can find me cuddling my rescue pets (Dennis the pit bull and former street cats Oops & Wicket), volunteering with Good Home Pet Adoptions and the Norwalk Mentor Program, or performing in New York City with my jazz quintet, The Café Society.
